East Turkana, Northern Kenya

I conduct field research in East Turkana, Kenya. My research in this region is focused on Pliocene and Pleistocene hominin evolution and paleoecology. I am a faculty member in the Koobi Fora Field School and co-PI on our National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.

Southern Kenyan Rift Project, Kenya

I am the co-Director (with Dr. Kyalo Manthi, National Museums of Kenya) of the Southern Kenyan Rift Project. This project is exploring late Miocene (~6 Myr) sites in southern Kenya, centered at the sites of Lemudong'o and Enamankeon. The SKRP research is funded by National Geographic Foundation and Niarchos Expedition Fund. View our 2019 Code of Conduct here.
