East Turkana, Northern Kenya
I conduct field research in East Turkana, Kenya. My research in this region is focused on Pliocene and Pleistocene hominin evolution and paleoecology. I am a faculty member in the Koobi Fora Field School and co-PI on our National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.
Southern Kenyan Rift Project, Kenya
I am the co-Director (with Dr. Kyalo Manthi, National Museums of Kenya) of the Southern Kenyan Rift Project. This project is exploring late Miocene (~6 Myr) sites in southern Kenya, centered at the sites of Lemudong'o and Enamankeon. The SKRP research is funded by National Geographic Foundation and Niarchos Expedition Fund.
